Welcome Message Food Technology 2024

Syed Farhat Raza

With great pleasure, we warmly welcome honourable guests joining us to attend the two-day 6th World Congress on Food Science & Technology, June 24-25, 2024, Valencia, Spain. The key theme is Food for Future: “Innovations Driving the Future of Food Science.”

Food security and safety faces several challenges across both production and consumption. Threats like population growth, increased demand for food, the increase in scarcity water, limitation of the availability of land and the food losses and food waste to be addressed on solid grounds. Last two to three years were quite stressful where COVID-19 has imposed shocks on all segments of food supply chains, simultaneously affecting farm production, food processing, transport and logistics, and final demand. Not all sectors and products have been equally affected, and different products have experienced disruptions at different stages of the supply chain. In spite of all the challenges, food supply chain must continue to evolve and access to the right technology, knowledge and information are the critical success factors to mitigate these challenges.

In the conference, food professionals such as researchers, scientists, scholars, delegates from industry and renowned organizations will be participating to share their experience and knowledge earned during their respective careers. Therefore, it is an excellent opportunity for the participants to have access to the latest information on the most recent information on the technological development to meet the current and future challenges. Further to it, the conference will be a good platform to consolidate the network, have direct access to the various professionals and get maximum benefit out of it. World is a global village and learning from the cross discussion is the most powerful tool for success.

On the behalf of the conference management team, I invite all honorable stake holders of the food supply chain to participate in this important event and look forward to see them in the conference.
